Caring for the Community

Since 2014, CaringEveryday.co.uk from Johnson & Johnson Ltd has partnered with Refuge, a charity that supports women and children who have experienced domestic violence.

On any given day Refuge supports over 3,000 women and children to escape domestic violence and rebuild their lives – free from fear. Refuge has been providing life-saving and life-changing support to women and children for over four decades, ever since it opened the world’s first safe house in West London, in 1971.

Refuge runs a range of services including:

  • A national network of refuges
  • Community-based outreach services
  • Independent Domestic Violence Advocacy (IDVA) for women at the highest risk of serious injury and homicide
  • The Freephone 24 Hour National Domestic Violence Helpline, run in partnership with Women’s Aid
  • Child support workers

CaringEveryday.co.uk is proud to support Refuge and in 2014  we made a donation that will help to run its support services*. Refuge told us how it is  facing challenging times ahead, “Our services save lives and change lives. But they are under serious threat. We have faced year on year funding cuts and we urgently need public support to help sustain our work into the future. That’s why we are so grateful to Johnson and Johnson Ltd for its fantastic support, which has literally helped us keep the doors to our vital services open.”

For more information please visit www.refuge.org.uk or follow Refuge’s work on Facebook and Twitter.
